UltraShield Seat Fitment and Custom Seats

SPS sells the most popular UltraShield seats for autocross, track day and club racing which include the Spec Miata, Rally Sport and Pro Road Race.

SPEC MIATA

The Spec Miata is a perfect all purpose seat for all cars.  It has aggressive thigh and rib support, with no shoulder bolster to allow for easy entry and exit in a variety of cars.

Constructed from .125" aluminum.  Available in 14-18" widths in 20 degree lay-back.  Cloth cover has contoured foam padding under legs and is fully removable.

RALLY SPORT

The Rally Sport features the same shoulder wrap bolster as the road race seats, but has a lesser thigh and rib bolster than either the Spec Miata or Pro Road Race.  Fits most vehicles (the shoulder support is the area most likely to not fit).

Made from .125" aluminum, available in 14-18" width in either 10 degree or 20 degree lay back.  (10 degree is more straight up)

Cloth cover has foam padding under legs.

PRO ROAD RACE

The Pro Road race is the ultimate in support.  It features both the shoulder bolster from the Rally Sport and the aggressive rib and thigh support from the Spec Miata.

Similar to the Rally Sport, the shoulder area may cause fitment issues, especially in cars with roll cages. 

14-18" width, 10 or 20 degree lay-back.

SEAT SIZING

The width of the seat is determined by the width of your hips sitting down.  Use the custom seat chart for instructions on measuring this.

On average, the outside width of the Ultrashield seats is 7/8"-1" wider than the listed width.  E.G. a 15" spec Miata Seat is 15 7/8" wide on the outside.  Figure 3" wider on EACH side for seats with shoulder bolsters.

MOUNTING

There is no "standard mounting" for Ultrashield seats.  They are designed to be fixed mounted either through the bottom or sides of the seats.  The padding in the cover will adequately cover any bolt heads from mounting in most applications.  Remember to use large enough bolts to ensure strength, usually 5/16" diameter or more.

UltraShield seats can often be adapted to either your OEM seat bracket/slider, or to a Corbeau Aftermarket bracket.  Typically, the seat can be bolted through the bottom to the bracket.  Corbeau brackets generally have a flat mounting "pad" that works perfect for this.  Often with OEM Brackets, you can bolt flat steel plates across the sliders to create a flat mounting  pad.  Please ensure any mounting scheme is strong enough for your application and will pass inspection of your sanctioning body.
